  1. In this reading from page 57-78, Tish's dad comes home for Christmans dressed up as Santa Claus and with presents. Tish gets mad at her dad, he hits her and pushes her onto presents. Het mom is making her feel like it is her fault and she is very mad at Tish and depressed because Ray (the father) left and she think that he loves her. Because of this Tish's mother leaves to find thier father and leaves Tish and Matt alone and she leaves them no money so they have to live off of what Tish earn at Burger Boy.

The style in this book has not changed very much from earlier on in the book other than that Tish is writing some enteries in her journal that are very long but at the same time some are about one paragraph. There is not a lot of Dialouge in the book it is like Tish is a narrator telling the story.
Dont you Dare Read this, Mrs.Dunphrey is a very serious book there is no humor, there aren't alot of parts in the book that would make you stop and laugh. I think that there is motifs because the same theme does occur alot, thaat theme is that dad appereing and then disaperein. There is no dialouge in this book, its from Tish's point of view and like I said it is like Tish is the narrator and she is telling the story.

  3. Tish’s Character has changed a lot this reading section. She stood up for herself to her dad. She walked right up to him instead of hiding, and she said something I slightly found rude. But I wouldn’t have hit her. The dad is gone forever, I hope at least, and the mom has to learn about how to be a mom. The mother in this book makes me so angry; literally, she is just the laziest, person ever. This family is falling apart and someone needs to save them
The author probably wrote this book off of personal problems to the extreme. Tish seems to have changed a bit in this ridding section. She seems to care a bit more about her marks, and a bit less about parenting her brother. I don’t think Tish knows it, but she’s slowly putting the responsibilities back into her mother’s hands. A great technique, I agree, hopefully the family will stick together this way, and keep that evil dad out!

  4. I agree with you Josh, except for that she is being a little less parenting to her brother. But since Tish and Matt's mom left to go find her dad she has to be even more parenting to him now since she is the only important person that Matt has in his life. You did awsome!

  5. Woah Yael you agreed with josh, thats a first. But i also agree with you and how it is serious that Tish has a bigger reason to work because her mom did leave her with no money and Tish has to take care of Matt. Great Job.

  6. In the start of the 3rd reading Section, it is around Christmas time and Tish bought presents and set up a plastic tree and a few minutes later, her dad comes in and is dressed in a Santa suit and he starts saying ho ho ho merry Christmas. Tish gets pissed because he brought presents and a good tree so she says your not wanted here just leave. The dad hits her, Matt screams Tish but the mom screams Ray because she wants to say that she didn't mean it. The dad leaves by saying i can see where i am not wanted. And after that the mom goes back to what she used to be lazy and ignoring Tish and Matt. Eventually she does say something, He does love me, i know he does. But the dad beats the mom why does she like him so much. At the end of the reading section Tish arrives home after work and hears Matt crying, she searched around for him and saw a note on the coffee table saying Tish, I've gone to find your father, I know you'll take care of your brother Matt. She didn't leave any money so Tish has to work much harder for the money.
The Major theme for this section would be that The mom leaving to find the dad. This is reveled when Tish finds the note saying that her mom left. The theme is at one side old and traditional and new at the same time because The dad is always gone but the new thing is the mom is too. The theme is Physiological because The mom is having a bad time in her head that she needs to fix it.
The setting in this book is Tish's home, It has a huge role in the book because without this the author may have not told us about the parents. The atmosphere is still depressing. There is no scenic effects because it is a diary.

  7. In this section the Bonners dad leaves them for good because Tish gets really angry at the dad at Chrismas Eve and then he hits her. In result of that both parents start to yell at each other and in the end the dad leaves. The mom gets extreamly sad after he leaves. She blames it all on Tish for getting him angry. Tish is sad because Matt saw her get angry and now he is sad that he left. Although, Tish thinks that her mom is being stupid because he never acts good to her of to the rest of the family. He also only come on the rare ocasion. I think that there mom is being stupid because he never treats her with any short of respect which should give her a reason not to want to see him again but for some reason she does want to see him.
In the writing of this book there are some intellectual qualities because it is a diary written by Tish Bonner who isn't the best in school. But her teacher thinks that she is a good writer. This book can be very deppressing because it shows that there are some people out there that don't have it as good as us. In this book Tish and her mom get beat by the dad whenever he gets angry. The sentences go together harshly because it makes you really feel the story's emotions. I think that the antagonist is the dad and that the Protagonist is the dad. the dialogue isn't that affective because it is talked about in the past tense because she is writing about what people said to her in the diary. - Liam

  8. I agree with yael that Tish's mom is blaming her for there dad leaving them. It is his fault because he is the one who won't be nice to them and Tish had the right to get angry at him. I also agree that the mom does think that Ray loves her. Who is she kidding. If he did love her why would he beat her all the timme it just would make no sence. For someone to love you they have to care for and treat you like your not garbage like he does. Good Job Yael. - Liam
